The purpose of the American Women Quarters Program is to pay homage to some of the greatest women in the history of the United States of America. Most of the women featured were pioneers in their fields. All helped weave the fabric of our great society into what it is today.

Maya Angelou is an American Treasure and Poet Laureate. She may be best known for her book "I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings". She is more than a poet however. She was a fierce civil rights activist, and has received more than 50+ honorary degrees.
Is a noted Astronaut and Educator. She was also the first American Woman in space. Dr. Sally received the NCAA's Theodore Roosevelt Award, the Lindbergh Eagle, and National Space Society's von Braun Award. She is also a member of the Astronaut Hall of Fame.
The The Wilma Mankiller Quarter was issued in 2022 and was the third ever American Women Quarter to be issued. Wilma Mankiller was born into the Cherokee Nation in 1945. She was the original founder of the Community Development Department for the Cherokee Nation.
Otero-Warren worked diligently to create educational opportunities for all New Mexicans. Her acts significantly improved Hispanic and Native American families.
