Generally speaking no do not clean your coins at all. What you are seeing is mostly PATINA or oxidation of the materials in the coin. Silver coins are generally 90% silver and then 10% copper - tin - nickel alloy of some blend. Modern coins have a copper core with a tin jacket. That 1974 Kennedy 50C is not silver however, and looks almost like someone too a punch to the right side of it? Whats it say? Also the date looks punched? Strange coin. But yea dont clean these. Thanks for posting!
