Questions & Comments
N8Mac666 : I have a 1979 blob mint error one and it looks like the mint mark is supposed to be an S. Does that mean its a proof coin? And what is the value of this raw coin? Posted: June 6, 2024 10:53 am
Admin : A proof will have a mirror like finish. Blob errors are caused when something like die grease fills the mint mark on the die, and when it strikes the planchet it leaves a sloppy blob like mint mark. There are both type 1 and type 2. Not all 1979 S Susan B Anthony coins are proof. Hope this helps! Thanks for posting N8Mac666. Reply posted: June 6, 2024 10:53 am
How much is a 1979 S Susan B Anthony Dollar Proof worth?
In Average Circulated (AC) condition it's worth around $1, one in certified mint state (MS+) condition could bring as much as $5 at auction. This price does not reference any standard coin grading scale. So when we say Average Circulated, we mean in a similar condition to other coins circulated in 1979, and mint state meaning it is certified MS+ by one of the top coin grading companies. *** [?].
