If looking for errors there are several 1979 Half Dollars being struck on Susan B. Anthony planchets. Error struck on Anthony Dollars will be slightly smaller than other half dollars and as a result a portion of the strike will be missing. Other errors include; Off Center Strikes, Broad Strikes, Strike Through, and Missing Clad Layers.
Look for the D mint mark on the bottom right on the front or obverse of this coin. About 15% of all the Kennedy Half Dollars minted in 1979 were minted at the Denver mint. Unfortunately all Half Dollars issued after 1970 and all Dimes, and Quarters minted after 1964 contain no silver content and are nothing more than a nickel jacket over a copper core. Half Dollars are still very popular with coin collectors today.
